My concern is with the bank. Will they lean me on a property, knowing that the sidings have asbestos ?

Thanks Daira and Megan. I appreciate your response. And will be looking for an asbestos removal specialist to give me a quote.

I found a 3 unit home, but the seller said it has asbestos sidings. As a new investor, what are my risk?, or should I simply stay away from this?

@Ndy Onyido, thanks again for that information. That was exactly what I did found a Better Bank that don't find a will to secretly pick and choose who they can lean to base on the place of birth. BTW I got a better rate as well.

Thanks @Ndy Onyido for that information. If it is a requirement that the bank know where you were born in order to get a loan, I find it offensive. @Ryan Murdock it was a requirement according to the letter they send me that I show them where I was from before becoming a US citizen. @Ronan M. thanks for the comment. It was exactly my response to the banker (None of the Bank's business).

Again, this might be some form of requirement for the bank, but I see it as a determining factor as to who they choose to lean their money to or not.

I was trying to refinances my home and after submitting all the necessary documents to the bank, i received a call from the Bank.

Banker - I see that you became a US citizen after you turn 21. So what country were you born?

Me - I am offended that my place of origin is a determine factor for me getting this refinance done with you. Therefore i done think i can do business with you.

Please tell me was I wrong?

@Robert Ellis, Thanks for the post. we have not ruled out Columbus. we are working on rehabbing  our property there and hope to get it completed by year end and rented. We will need a PM for that one to help us manage our investment.

@Account Closed, Thanks for the post. Yes family and friends where our driving force to the areas we invested in. With the information we am getting now, if we had a mentor or someone to share some light on investing in NY, I am sure we could have may the decision to invest in NY. Right now it is too expensive for us to start investing in NY. Thanks to BP and people like you we know this time around we can meet and talk to people who are currently investing in areas we will like to invest in. People who can point it out to us that there are places you just want to avoid and others that will give us a better return for our money.

To everyone else, Thank you for the feel back and comments.
