@Erin Auman...I totally get it.

Last year I was in your shoes, listening to podcast after podcast, reading books, devouring articles, how-to's, and talking to realtors.

The story going around in my head was--is this industry, career, and life just for the ultra-outgoing, super-confident movers and shakers?

One day I listened to a podcast by Hal Elrod, who challenged his listeners to set a BIG goal for a short time window, and work as hard as possible to succeed.

His premise was that even if you don't succeed, the person you become while striving for the goal is the reward.

The question for me turned into, "Do I want to become the type of person who learns how to take on big challenges?"

The answer was a BIG and resounding yes.

So no matter if I reached my goal or not, I was going to set my big goal out there and work harder than hard to reach it.

Here's my goal, which I repeat multiple times a day:

"I am committed to maintaining unwavering faith that I will be living rent-free in a purchased home by August 1, 2019, and will put forth extraordinary effort until I do. No matter what, there is no other option."

After months and months of struggles, pushing, tears, and valleys...yesterday my offer was accepted for a house that will produce enough rent for me to live rent-free. I am pre-approved, and will close August 1, 2019.

Erin, because I have walked this path, I know it is possible for you.

PS. Discouragement is part of the journey, so don't let it take you down. Discouragement is just another step in the process.

Is a homeowner liable if a renter is participating in illegal activity that the owner knows nothing about?
