Hmm how would that work exactly? Donate the house. Would it need to be free and clear?

Yeah you have to work a bit, but you would have to work no matter what. Theres no magical way to just make money appear and not have to do anything. Even lottery tickets require you to do something. But you weigh the factors and see if REI is right for you.

I mean its not right for everyone. I met a pharmacist who put his properties on the market. We sat down for lunch and he told me his story.
In short he bought about 4 properties in hopes of renting them and making cash. He paid too much and was losing money, on top of the fact he had the normal problems and issue associated with rentals. He just said it wasn't for him.

I really think it depends on your definition of "bad". There are people who think the neighborhood I lived in and live in now are "bad". But thats not true, just a different type of people.

Why not go drive around in some of the areas that you have questions about both at night and day. If you feel incredibly uncomfortable, then get out and do not buy. But hey you might be surprised about how "bad" some areas aren't.

Now like Mike said if they are low income they are there for a reason and will probably bring some stress and some drama, but hey I mean thats just part of the business right?

Good luck!

Well I am not married. The girls I hang out with are just dates or girlfriends.

Well lets see. I fight probably 4 times a year. Right now. Just taking it slow. I also do some amateur boxing and wrestling tournaments.

Yeah ladies hinder free time, however at the same time we love them and need them around.

I figure I need to invest so that when my brain cells are gone from being smashed I will have something to fall back on. lol.

I usually get in a book or two each month. Mostly pertaining to investing or something money related

Thanks for replying guys. Its cool to see what kind of people are on here.

Fantastic. I love to read those interviews.

Things like these interviews and blogs from people are awesome because they are REAL. Its not some guy trying to give you warm fuzzies and take your money.

gotcha. yeah like I said not my cup of tea. So I will just tell him to check into a pro lol.

Also to add onto this question. What are some common renovations that you know of that would require a permit if sold? Excluding basic stuff like HVAC and anything that would require a license.

I know its a weird question.

Thanks man

Me and my buddy were doing some work in his house this weekend. Mainly finishing the rest of his basement. He is turning it into a little work out place. He was thinking of buying an indoor sauna or he was thinking of buying a outdoor one and building a little area around it. He was wondering if he needed to have a permit or do anything special. Like if you have an in ground pool put in.

Just curious. Not my cup of tea, but figured you guys might know.

heh its cool man. I didn't take it as a personal shot. I mean when you compare combat sports to "normal" sports, its pretty rough.

Yeah if getting hit is not your thing and it happens, its definitely something that will make you contemplate spending more time doing it.

But in all honesty I like just wrestling and jiujitsu. The fighting was just another way to compete. Plus I get a little extra cash for it.

Yeah it probably is a bit barbaric. But I wrestled since a kid and I enjoy competition. I also boxed for a while. It was the next step for me.
