The man is out to “Create or Save†jobs. How can you measure if a job has been saved? Have no fear, the government has a way.
An Example:
The massive City Center project in Las Vegas.
Reality:
New jobs = 12,000
Transfers from other properties = (4,000)
Net new jobs = 8,000
Lost Construction Jobs (9,000)
Net Jobs = (1,000)
Government “Create or Save†Math
New jobs = 12,000
Saved jobs = 4,000 (transfer from other properties)
Lost jobs = (9,000)
Net jobs created or saved = 7,000
These are approximate figures. I had the actual numbers in post several months back but this figure is close to what they touted when City Center opened. Rather than subtract the workers who transferred from other properties they were added in as if those jobs had been saved. So according to the government (1,000) = 7,000. Is it any wonder the national debt is so high?
To be sure the Republicans used similar gimmicks when they were in power. How do you tell when a politician is lying? It’s easy – his lips are moving.
The Big “O†is out to save one job in particular – his own!
