This is not that. I’ve narrowed down to two areas that I’d like to start investing in and I figured a real estate forum would be a good place to start to compile real information. I’ve done a lot of research so far but I put real value in what real people are saying that are already in the area. Just looking for some actual feedback unlike the gentleman that simply posted “no” earlier.

The city has a large pool of renters and a low cost of entry. I does anyone have any experience in the area?

@Gervon Thompson

Buy the house hack. Renting and paying down debt isn’t a great position to be in. You’ll be able to pay off the student loan faster anyway once you start cash flowing, in addition to whatever you do for a living.

Option A- pay down student loan and take 2-4 years before you replenish your savings which means another 2-4 years of not owning a home. This also means that you might miss out on the historically low rates

Option B- house hack

Your property will grow in value unless a major crash happens but if you’re cash flowing the market won’t really hit your pockets

You’ll be able to replenish your savings faster due to the added rental income
