So after weeks of looking at houses, reading books and biggerpockets, researching, and learning from my newly found partner/mentor, we took the first step of going to look at our first house.  It was a 3/1 sfh property in St. Peters Mo for 59k that we found listed for 1 day on zillow.  The recent comps in the area were selling for 115k so it was worth checking out for a flipping opportunity.  We did a walk through that night with the agent and it looked like only a cosmetic rehab which we estimated at around 7500 on the high side.  We made a offer for 53k and found out the next day by text that the buyer had accepted.  But then within a minute the agent responded again that she was sorry because she sent that to the wrong buyer.  So we went from very excited to let down in a matter of seconds.  But long story short the ride has begun and we are on the hunt for more properties to look at!!!!!  The fun has began!

I am new and getting ready to jump in to my first real estate investment.  I am looking for a good property to hold to cash flow and  I was wondering what are some good property management companies in the St. Louis Missouri area?

@Katherine Conrad, welcome to BP! I would recommend the Podcast section. They give you real life stories of how people started out and where they are today. It is inspiring! You are in one of the best cities in the country to buy and hold real estate. Take advantage!

Welcome!

I am also just starting out in the St. Louis area. I have found this site to be very educational! The podcast are excellent for learning and the people on bigger pockets are welcoming and will help answer any questions.

Best of luck!

Ryan

What a great podcast! Inspiring! It is funny how the interview starts out with he began his journey with Rich Dad Poor Dad. That is the same reason I am on this website and spending all my spare time reading and researching real estate investing! It sounds like that is the reason most people have fell in love with the idea of financial freedom and passive income.

Hello!

I was recently introduced to this website from a fellow coworker who shares the same desires I have of becoming a real estate investor. I plan to buy my first property soon which I plan to hold and rent. I was recently inspired from many books such as Rich Dad Poor Dad. I have been awakened to the power of passive income and can not wait to create my own. I will be investing in the St. Louis Missouri area where I live. I am excited to have found this website to help navigate my journey!
