I joined this forum about a week ago but I don't think I've introduced myself.
I'm "long in tooth" but still have a lot of desire to build a signficant real estate investment portfolio. I have enjoyed visiting this forum and find it to be one of the best on the internet.

I'm new to REI and have a very ambitious short term goal of creating a minimum of $7,500/month income from real estate so I can quit my full time job and do this full time.

It appears from my research that the most viable area for me to focus on is Wholesaling in that I want fast results without using much of my own money or credit.

I respect the suggestions of the more experienced investors on this forum because I believe experience is the best teacher although it can be painful and expensive.

So I'm excited to be here and look forward to some great times.

I am interested in some feedback on the best area to focus my initial real estate investing activity. My short term goal is to establish a $7,500/month income ASAP from my real estate investing in order to quit my job and be a full time investor.

The areas I have identified are:

1. Wholesaling
2. Subject To
3. Lease/Option
4. Buy/Hold
5. Foreclosure

Based on my short term goal, where should I focus?

What are some good ideas on real estate websites. I've seen some very good ones. 2 Questions:

1. How important is having my own real estate website?

2. What are your recommendations on website building companies?

I've had good success with Vista Print.

I'm looking to network with other Real Estate Investors in S. Louisiana.

I'm down here in S. Louisiana and as you know we just experienced a severe hurricane. I was wondering today what real estate investment opportunities might present themselves due to this unusual situation. Many homes were severely damaged and many people are without homes and need a place to live.

I would be interested in some ideas or suggestions from other investors as to how they would use this situation to advance their real estate business.
