Yeah. Section 8 is done the road and not ideal for our first one. I only want her involved in the first deal because I do not live in the area but she does. After this one, she will more than likely just do her thing and I'll go to work and manage my property.

Plus, if she's going to live I think she should have a say in where we move...

Yeah. She definitely needs to read up on some topics for sure and I'm sure she will. I'll probably do tenant screening unless she actually wants to be hands on in that fashion.

Thanks for the tips Marie

@Jason Chen this is the first post I've ever seen from you and right off the bat, I asked myself if you even read the question. You didn't answer the question, you made crazy assumptions about someone you don't even know and you're incredibly rude.

You start talking driving a Porsche, why would I or her want that?!

That was never even in initial post. I asked how to help her understand business and investing and you jump with hate and pure garbage.

I'm sorry if you had a similar experience too mine and it ended poorly but not every girl is like that nor are they all spoiled and entitled. My relationship is fine and we work together to make our dreams a reality which is why I asked YOU for assistance in helping her understand and you didn't even come close to the mark.

I'm sorry if you can't find someone who isn't shallow but not everyone is shallow. I don't know your situation but it feels like your response is coming from a place of resentment towards women. I know the feeling but like I've said, not every girl is like the one you're trying to paint.

I do not need relationship advice. I need help helping someone else understand business and investing in general. And again, your response was so far from the mark, it is deemed: Dumb

I really hope we can move forward and if you have something of value to offer to the community, please do so. If not, please have some respect (for us and yourself) and do not respond.

Have a great day.

@Doug Woodville my I ask who your comment is directed towards?

@Victor S. it's an expression. Not something to seriously like these folks attacking women they know nothing about.

Hey @Henry LiChi congrats on the growing family and the ability to retire YOUNG! That's awesome!

Thanks for the response. Yes, I actually own Set for Life and plan to read it once I complete the book on rental property investing by @Brandon Turner  great book and it's answering all of my questions that I still have... maybe I'll give my girlfriend Set for Life while I'm still reading Brandon's book so she can get inspired while I get the business details.

We seem to be in the same boat so I appreciate your comment. I do t plan for us to house hack forever either. Just for right now and later on we can get a single family home when it makes sense.

Thanks for the experience, sir!

@Brie Schmidt thanks so much. This is very helpful. I'm glad you can relate! She's not opposed to this, she just doesn't understand and wants to understand it... is there away we could contact you and discuss things further?

@Thomas S. Again, had she told me she's not interested, I wouldn't be here!

She asked me to help her understand business and investments. My words don't seem to help her so I'm here asking for help. So DONT YOU DARE COME ON HERE AND TELL ME WHAT SHE IS AND IS NOT INTERESTED IN LEARNING! Someone who has something to contribute would've asked a follow up question to understand the situation before making assumptions or they would've offered actually ADVICE like so many people on here have.

You clearly don't have anything to contribute to the community so there is no point in you commenting.

Have a nice weekend.

@Amy Samuel this is very true. Everything is unaffordable. Which is a big reason why I want to get into real estate. We've talked about section 8 Housing and it's still on the table. We also talked about donating units to the "underserved" down the road.  So I'm glad you agree that these are good thoughts and something that is doable. This is exciting. I firmly believe you can't help other if you're not able to help yourself so once we help ourselves, we can help the masses!

I'm glad you and many others here think highly of my girlfriend. It's just sad to see so many sexist people on here... they're only hurting themselves... I've learned pretty quick who I'd do business with and who I won't do business with!

Thanks!
