Hello everyone:

I just wanted to see if many people know, or use the Thumbtack App? I just found it while trying to look for some local landscapers in my area to help my with a flip, and it popped up. It is really helpful and I have had a few people get back to me quickly (I have no association with the App/company). I wanted to throw it out there to let people know that it could be a valuable tool to have if you are new to flipping, or just trying to get some fixes done on a rental in an area that is new to you.

Not sure what areas it works best in, but I'm in Southern California and it seems to work really good here.

@Samantha Billetter

Welcome to the site! If I were you I would look into getting some knowledge and using that knowledge to bring in other investors on deals. Knowledge is power, and it applies to real estate in every aspect. Investors would be able to lend you money once they trust you and believe you have a good grasp on real estate. These investors can help with funding flips, buy and hold, or any other possibilities you want to jump into involving real estate.

I believe the license is something that shows stick-to-itiveness and shows people you have some real estate knowledge. The license can also help you with the funds that you need, since you can become an agent and get money while gaining experience.

I hope this helps! Good luck!

Thanks!!

@Michael Barbari

My best pointer would be getting a pre book. I used a prep book from Learning Express that I picked up on Amazon, which was used for $8.00. The book was the best study guide for the test!

Hello All,

I passed my Real Estate Salesperson Exam today! I am pretty excited about it and think that it will be a vital addition to my real estate toolbox. I currently invest in buy and hold properties and believe that it will help give me the ability to be more efficient at buying properties.

The test was pretty hard, but I am glad that I put the time and effort into the test. I ended up buying two different exam prep programs to help me get through the test and the book that I got off Amazon was the better choice.

Thank you,

Peter Mckernan

Thanks for the article post. I have never thought of leverage that way and the article helps with understanding the concept!

Hello everyone,

I know this has been a recent topic over the past month or two; but I was just sent a link to another blog talking about how technology is going to play a big part in sidelining the real estate agent position. It is a good read and just revisits the possible ways that technology can take the position of a real estate agent out of the equation while buying property. Do you think he has some valid points, or do you think those points have no validity?

@Jerry Poon

Welcome to the site! I posted a similar topic a few months ago and got some different comments on the topic. I am currently investing in the Inland Empire and threw the idea around about condos out there; however, I just didn't look to much deeper into them after I posted the topic. It wasn't because I got really bad feedback on it; I just haven't really asked my agent to look into that area of investments for me.

Brian Ortins reached out in the thread and told me if I need any help with more questions about condos to give him a shout. I would look him up since he was pretty knowledgable on the topic.

Send me a PM if you need any help with areas you are looking in and I'll see if I can direct you to a good area.

Good Luck,

Peter
