Taking a step in to property management, starting with personal investments before moving to outside investors. We will be operating solely in TX (for foreseeable future). I am not a licensed RE agent/broker but the guy I'm partnering with will have his RE brokers license. Can we both own the PM LLC 50/50 or can only a licensed broker own the LLC? Thanks in advance! Obviously new to this...any guidance or best practices getting started are welcomed.

@Costin I. Thanks for the links and insight. Very helpful. It sounds like worst case they call DOS and we refinance?

@Alexander Felice I appreciate the reply. And I agree with your last point. For us, it's purely simpler to have all properties being accounted for in the same entity. We will weigh the costs. Thanks again

I purchased a rental two years ago with a conventional loan. It is currently serviced by Wells Fargo and funded by Freddie Mac. Trying to move it in to my LLC but Wells Fargo is telling me Freddie Mac won't allow this. Couple questions, all opinions and guidance welcome:

1. Is this true? No reason not to trust WF, but they were very vague in the answer to this question.

2. What options are there?

3. Is it worth it? I'm trying to centralize all of my real estate dealings under this company, but is it worth the cost of the answer to question #2 to do so?

Thanks in advance for any insight you can share.
