Property Management LLC - who should own?

Taking a step in to property management, starting with personal investments before moving to outside investors. We will be operating solely in TX (for foreseeable future). I am not a licensed RE agent/broker but the guy I'm partnering with will have his RE brokers license. Can we both own the PM LLC 50/50 or can only a licensed broker own the LLC? Thanks in advance! Obviously new to this...any guidance or best practices getting started are welcomed.
