@Jack Forester thanks Jack. After reading your post I checked the works order again and I see that they also sealed the hole. Given that and the fact that the contractor may have had to check on it several times perhaps the $575 is fair. Thanks for your input.

@Kenny Dahill Yup, I get the feeling I'm getting the short end. As of this month you can't even call them. I get through to some call 2 centre who takes your details and says they will get back to you. No response yet. Perhaps it's the time difference. Any case, thanks for the advice.

@Aaron K. Thanks Aaron, good idea to call other contractors. A check online came out at an average $374 for HVAC. I'll call about the squirrels.

I just received 2 bills from my property manager in Memphis. $575 to trap squirrels (they caught 4) and $500 to "fix a fan. Fan was on low speed. Moved the wires to run on high. AC is now working as it should". I don't live in the US, so am not familiar with local prices. It just seems excessive that such minor work can cost that much? It's actually 60% of monthly rent. That's not including the additional 15% service fee. Any comments are welcome.

Hi, I'm considering changing my property manager in Jersey City (Greenville area, 2 unit duplex). Is anyone happy to make a recommendation?
