Hi All,

Good help can be hard to find, so ... to help maintain my growing portfolio of buy and hold rentals (24 doors and counting), I'm building a list of great contractors, laborers, painters, lawn care, and workers of all types in the Syracuse, NY area.

Can you recommend anyone who I can add to my list? I'm happy to share it with anyone who contributes!

Thanks in advance.

Patrick

Hey All, I'm a buy-and-hold investor in Syracuse, New York.

I'm curious to hear: What are the top 3 things that bug you about your property management company

What are the top 3 things that you love about it?

What service(s) don't they provide that you wish they provided?

@James LePage - I’m a fellow SU alum (law 96). And I’m a buy and hold investor in Syracuse. I’ve been looking at modular building for a while, specifically, shipping container homes (though I’m not wed to containers for modular building). I would love to chat with you about it. And maybe do some sort of project together. I sent you a connection invite. Let’s talk.

I wonder if making rent due 5 days before the first of the month would be permissible. That way, if tenant pays after the first (5 days late), a late fee is triggered.

I have several rental units (mostly SFRs and 2FRs) in Syracuse. It's a real struggle to make money. Tenants are not great, city rules and regs are hard to comply with, and don't expect any appreciation on the value of the property.  I'd say about 1 in every 200 I look at are worth considering and 1 in every 300 is investible. Best of luck.

I have been testing out Hemlane. I dig it. I've tried a few others, but this is best so far. Email me for a referral code, if you like. Send me a direct message if you want it.
