@Jonathan Greene I am currently house hacking in the Greenville area. I don't mind looking outside of jersey city. I would like to be within an hour of NYC. I would also be using the Va loan.

@Andrew Freed I know I won't cash flow while I occupy one of the units but I want make sure that I cash flow once I move. I am thinking of using the MTR strategy however, I am running the numbers as if it is long term just in case MTR doesn't workout.

I have been in a house hack in the Jersey City Area for three years and I am now looking to get into another house hack in the Jersey City Area or even outside with an hour commute to NYC. I was wondering if it's still possible to house hack in the Jersey City area because of how high house prices are now. After running the numbers its pretty difficult to find a house hack that makes sense in the area. If anyone have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

Im currently looking for a real estate investor friendly CPA in the Jersey City area. Do you guys have any recommendations?

100%. I am currently using a VA loan.

I am currently house hacking a duplex and I owned it for 2.5 years. I am trying to get the equity out of it to get another multifamily. I am having difficulty getting a heloc because its hard to get these days. I am considering doing a cash out refinance even though my interest rate will increase. My current interest rate is 2.25% and I have 475k remaining on the mortgage. My property would probably apraise for around $600,000. Would it make sense to do a cash out refinance to cash to do another house hack?
