It's a 2 family property. Third Family is already built. I would need to separate 2nd floor electric with 3rd floor electric. I was going to run conduit on the outside of the building and run it into the 3rd floor. For heat they just use electric heaters. I may or may not convert to gas.

Most important - is I need to install a stove (and the hookups) and fridge. As well as a kitchen sink. (bathroom is already up) Whats roughly the cost to do this job in the Northeast (in Mass)?

So I walk through a house and I'm fairly lost at what to look for. For example, PVC pipes are being used instead of copper or PEX. Are there videos of people doing house inspections? Good books? I dont want to hire a house inspector for things I should catch during a first viewing. What things I should see when I check the attic? Basement?

Saw a pretty good deal on a 6 family property that is pretty much turn key and generating great cash flow.

What are the significant differences in investing in a 6 family over a 2-4 family property?

@Simon Campbell interesting... so TOM sold to Mike for half the amount for 1/2 interest in the property. Okay that makes sense. So now they are partners.

But then Tom purchased from Mike his interest in the property for $1. Maybe Tom gave Mike cash for the his portion? They are family but he initially sold half interest for half his purchase price but purchased it back for only $1. Odd.

@Georges A. for example I know NYC law dictates floors have to be covered 75%-80% in rugs but you will NOT find this in any apartment. Rugs? Disgusting.
