I was planning to join as a new investor but it is too far away from from Naperville and worst of all, By the time I get home and drive up there, event will be almost over. Are there any events / meet ups you suggest within half an hour time distance from Naperville downtown?

I live in Naperville and work as a software engineer. I have been meaning to start investing real estate as well. So far I have met couple real estate brokers but still looking for something that can help me find my first deal or someone with whom I can partner. @Matt Boyle, at this point I am looking to buy a rental property to gain the knowledge by going through experience..while I am ready to work as hard and invest good amount of time, I am short on money and need to understand how can I start without worrying about big sum to get going. Having a mentor who has gone through the process can make this journey easy and enjoying rather than frustrating.
