Post: Luxury vinyl plank over ceramic tile?

My wife and I just put the vinyl plank over the tile in the bathroom on a flip and it turned out just fine. My wife filled the slightly lower grout lines with some calk and that leveled it perfectly. One warning with that is I did have some adhesion issues in a couple areas as I was laying the flooring but I just added some construction adhesive and it worked great. As others have said be sure there isn't any broken tiles or any majorly uneven places. The people that did the my kitchen in the house we just purchased failed to do that and there are several spots that you can feel whatever is underneath the planks when you walk over it even with shoes on. Best of luck

Hey @Mike Burr,

My wife and I just moved to the Columbus area and during our search for a place to live we noticed there seems to be a high demand for rentals and a low supply. As with investing near any Military post you have to be aware that when a unit deploys that means vacancy! The nice thing about benning is that most (not all) units here are training units that do not deploy and on average families spend 3-5 years here. There are also several resident courses that require students to get housing for 8months to a year. The great thing about the military community is when you provide quality service we will spread the word and on the flip side if you have issues with a military tenant it's easy to get it straightedges our usually one way or another. Do you have more specifics on what you are looking for? Price point? ROI? Number of units/properties you are looking to acquire? Timeframe? Are looking to partner with someone? Are you looking for value add or turn key? Just things to think about. The more specific you can be with what you want the better leads you will get. Direct message me if you want to chat or if you want to be added to my buyers list.

Best of luck.

@Loic Assobmo I am moving to Columbus next month. Not positive I will personally be doing any wholesaling, however I will be finding and attending every meetup I can and possibly starting one of my own as I did in Savannah, Ga. DM me and we can talk more about what you are looking for and how I can help.

@Husain Abdul-Malik welcome to the area. The absolute best thing you can do to start is look up and attend any local meet ups find the heavy hitters in the area and figure out how to add value to their business or lives. You’ll find that most people within this industry are more than willing to share their experience and offer advice to those who are hungry and after it. I am not one of the heavy hitters I am talking about but I know some of them. Let’s connect and I’ll point you in the right direction.

@Christopher Ortiz A great book that I am currently re-reading is "Start Your Own Corporation" by Garrett Sutton. The author does a great job of explaining the pros and cons of each type of entity in a way that anyone can understand. It's a fantastic easy read with loads of info!
