Post: Estimating Home Value

Hey guys, so I was wondering about those people that come and estimate the value of a property. What are they called, how do you get in touch with one, and on average how much do they cost. Wouldn't it be beneficial to have one look at a property you are considering buying before hand to check for problems and possibly get a better deal? Thanks very much in advance. I hope you all have an amazing day!

I'm interested in flipping more than anything but buy and hold is a close second. I don't really have much money to work with because I'm trying to save for college. Should I put some aside for investing? And no sir, I don't have any contacts for funding.

Is there anyway to work for a real estate investor in your area or at least close by if you have absolutely no experience and don't already know them personally? I figured I could get started in real estate by being an assistant and I would learn from them but I don't really know any investors. Is there a website or something for that, and could one possibly even be an assistant from his home computer after he gets off of work?

Is there any way to estimate the value of a home without using a professional service?

At what point do you decide that the rehab of a house is going to cost too much? When your ROI lowers by 2%? And is there any sure fire give aways that you should just forget even looking st the house when you're looking on Zillow, Trulia, or wherever?
