Is there anyway to work for a real estate investor in your area or at least close by if you have absolutely no experience and don't already know them personally? I figured I could get started in real estate by being an assistant and I would learn from them but I don't really know any investors. Is there a website or something for that, and could one possibly even be an assistant from his home computer after he gets off of work?

@Nicholas Tanner There's always that possibility, but you have to be willing and able to prove yourself as an asset from day one. I've hired assistants before with 0 experience, and as long as they have the drive and the aptitude to absorb information and apply it quickly, they've worked out very well!
Not everyone is patient, though, so be mindful of that. If you're wanting to work from home, that will likely limit you and what you can offer to them to make it worth their while to hire you. Most of my assistants have started out doing small, simple tasks, and they've had to work their way up the ladder and prove themselves. There are also a LOT of people out there who just want to come in, pick your brain, and leave you high and dry. That makes investors wary!
I've always hired people either through personal networks or Facebook groups. You can try looking for local Facebook groups and start there.
