I'm pinging the social media landscape for thoughts on creating a logo for my new company - New Lane Properties.

I'm very interested in others' experience desinging their own.

I was worried for a moment there Jeff. My wife was worried that actually might happen. I've spent a lot of time on BP and most everyone here seems well natured so I thought it a low risk post.

I'm happy that people are in to the New Lane concept. Validation helps relieve the anxiety of starting a new business.

Great feedback and opinions. Just bought ..investments, ..properties and New-Lane.com. I know the dash is a web no-no but if you say it out loud it flows and is a bit catchy; New Dash Lane Dot Com. Try it. And NewLane.com was taken.

Duncan, we are on the same page. While I do care about branding, that will be more of a priority later when the business begins to mature. Right now I want to get established and build the systems and processes for my market. The end result is along the lines of what @TimeButters posted. A holding company where I can park numerous and varied ventures.

Looking for feedback on a company name and website that I want to launch.

The end result is a holdings company called New Lane Holdings (or maybe group). The holding company will house a property management company, general investments (not just real estate) and a bunch of other stuff.

The plan is to start with a buy and hold strategy with a few flips sprinkled in mostly because I really like doing construction work. That's my way of staying in the business as a technician while also working on my business as an entrepreneur.

How does the name NewLaneHomes sound? Website would be NewLaneHomes.com

Alternatives:

NewLaneProperties.com

NewLaneRealty.com

NewLaneResedential.com

Quick back story on how I came up with New Lane. A few years ago a Wall Street hedge fund named Old Lane was bought by a larger firm. Only a few years later the hedge fund failed and the management team of the original venture were let go. When I read this I thought to myself, who starts a company called Old Lane. Sounds so - old and lame. New Lane sounds so much better. And bam, New Lane was born.

Thanks for the feedback. I love this site.

Many here have poo poo'd the idea of investing in Williston ND under the notion that the boom could dry up at any moment. I think this is a misinformed view. America is about to become the largest oil and gas producer bumping Russia and Saudi Arabia out of the way, largely because of what's going on in ND. Economists predict upwards of $700 billion added to the national economy, 4% or more in GDP growth and 1.7 million jobs, all by 2020. Long term, when the oil and gas dries up (and it will eventually) and the developers move on, there's no reason why ND won't continue to be booming. Just look at how California turned out. There's a lot of opportunity in ND. If anyone here is having success, please post your experiences.
