I'm originally from Eastern NC, I went to school in Raleigh, NC, and now I live in Greensboro, NC - a few miles east of Winston-Salem.

Hey Travis - I’m not going to offer any advice that is better than Scott Trench’s or anybody else’s, but I would like to congratulate on starting to think about this when you are 20 years old with few commitments.

You have a ton of flexibility in your life right now, which is amazing! You can use your time and resources to do whatever you can to further yourself in a journey to financial freedom.

@Tre Harris - Hi there! (Future) Greensboro BRRRR Investor here as well.

I know that there are other practicing this method in this area, so I know it works.

I would recommend getting started by knowing what type of deals you are interested in. What size (single family, small multifamily, etc), what class (A,B,C, or D), and what location. This will help you focus and find deals that make sense for you. The first thing that wholesalers ask is "what is your budget and where are you looking?". If you can't answer those questions, you won't have people looking for deals that cater to your needs.

Problems include finding deals with enough margin to making this method work. If you are looking at MLS deals, you will need a skilled agent that has experience assisting investors. If you are looking for non-MLS deals, finding wholesalers that leave enough meat on the bone or finding your own deals is a challenge. I have started looking for my own deals.

@Brent Hill - Thanks for reaching out! I will be doing my investing primarily in the Triad right now, but I always love meeting new people from new places. I have said this a lot over the last few months, but every time I connect with someone new, new knowledge and opportunities arise. Do you have any wholesale connections in the Triad?

@Shiloh Lundahl - Those are some pretty impressive numbers. I'm jealous that I didn't find those deals first! And it sounds like they are plentiful if you think you will have 3 going simultaneously by the end of the month. Are there certain criteria you require for the properties you are looking at? Purchase price? Rehab Costs? ARV? Neighborhood class? Etc? Did you find all these deals through realtors?
