This is a great place to make connections and learn a ton about RE, they have great tools (Rental Calc, Flipping Calc. , etc.) that are great for running your numbers. I'm just learning and diving in as well. I saw your idea about the triplex and like it, however what about renting out 2 units, and living in the third. You'll be able to qualify for a FHA loan (only available if you're living in the residence), and that'll give you a "super low" interest. If you do your due diligence and run your numbers through the BP rental properties calculator you could have your mortgage paid each month by your renters! Just and idea!

Hey All,

I am a senior mechanical engineering student at Pitt with goals to secure financial freedom from corporate america ASAP. I love engineering, but I want to go far beyond the financial  bounds that are around it. I'm interested in wholesaling and rental properties to start (quick and easy, when using a management company), and in the future flipping and raw land builds as well. I'm looking to build a professional power team around me to make this dream a reality as soon as possible!
