Hey everyone! Today I have become a member of the NAR and the GAR as well as the Athens board of realtors. The fees make me cringe a little but as far as I can tell this a step in the right direction. Are any of you on the forums members? What is your feedback on how they are and if being a member has helped your career? I plan to join their fuel/ypn committee further in the year after I have a little more time and money. Cheers!

Nai Thao I went a little differently than others. I joined a rather small firm-only five of us- so I could help it grow larger instead of picking something more established. I'll have to work harder for my money but the chance to expand is much larger for me that way.

Hey everyone, I had just moved to Athens, Georgia as the first member of my brokerage to extend to this area. Does anyone know anything about investing groups here? I'm a real estate agent for Collins Property group, as well as a certified property manager. I'm looking for people or groups of people that would be willing to talk with me about the state of the markets, as well as residential, rentals, and commercial properties. I'm also well interested in the process of investing in to troubled house to turn them into passive income. If anyone could help me, that would be fantastic. Thanks!

I'd fish around in the northeast Georgia area. Braselton, Georgia's population shot up 500% from 2000 to 2010 because of all the medical facilities being built. The population is of a smaller city, around 7000 right now, but that growth is ridiculous. It may be a little farther than what you're looking for, but its worth looking in to.

I just got my first 1000 pack of business cards! I was wondering where everyone here first distributed their cards. As a salesperson I know first and foremost to tackle family and friends. I'm pretty sure the 2nd tier will be to disperse them at restaurants, hospitals, and pool cleaning stores/maintenance shops. Are there any better places to spread the love? What did you do with your cards starting out?
