I looked into buying a place in Vegas. There's a bit of paperwork. Get a lawyer to explain to you exactly what you need to do. And know what state you're buying in.

You know what's funny? Is you're right in some respect. But I think also often it's just pure dumb luck. I think that luck though manifests itself out of desire within one's self to have or be something. So you have the desire, and as you believe it strongly enough you begin to attract opportunity. So maybe that's how people get lucky. But I know luck is a huge part of it, don't kid yourself. ie: if Bill Gates had not been born in 1955 and had his mothers social club not put money together to buy the highschool a computer, and the exact kind of computer they had, then we might not be talking right now on here. Strange stuff ahh?

You have the right idea. Often the easiest way to build capital is to flip houses. It's a tougher market at the moment though unfortunately. But if you can do a few flips it will raise capital for you to start to buy apartment buildings. [REMOVED] But in any case I think you're on the right track.

I've been trying a lot of things to sell a 63 unit apartment I have for sale in Thunder Bay Ontario. I have it listed for a very low price as well. I'm wondering if it's just the economy that's got people not looking or buying much these days? I have it advertised in most major places and on my website below. But still the activity isn't that great. Any place else I should be advertising it? It's a great building but I just want to get out.

Here's Generally What you'll pay in major cities in Canada for typical older apartment buildings on a per door basis. 2009. (100k=$100,000)

Vancouver 100k
Edmonton 90k
Calgary 90k
Saskatoon: 70k
Regina 60k
Winnipeg: 50k
Toronto: 70k

The deals on buildings are typically found in eastern canada. In ontario mostly. [REMOVED] Happy apartment shopping!
