Post: How to Make Local Connections

Hello BP Community,

I am eager to get hands on experience with real estate investing. Based in Las Vegas, I am having a hard time locating RE investors that are willing to bring me under their wings and show me the ropes of the industry. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to connect with people locally and how to connector with actual investors rather than "gurus"?

Thanks,

Mike

Thank you so much to everyone! I am greatly appreciative of all of your advice. My main concern was that the market was oversaturated. I am ready to get started!

One last question: do you think the hype about real estate will die down again? From what I am understanding, the housing bubble caused a lot of attention and once the market was correcting itself, people started flocking to real estate because of increasing prices. Over time, do you think REI will have less investors and therefore less competition?

Thank you,

Mike

@Sam Steadman

Thank you so much for your in-depth response. I truly do appreciate this!

With that being said, is there a problem with investing at an early age- say 20? I am already saving money for my first down payment, but will may age deter lenders and loans? Also, I know I have to build quality credit. Is there a way to do this quickly within a few years? I currently do not have a credit card, just debit.

Thank you so much for your response again! I am very thankful!

Hello, BP community!

I am an aspiring 18-yr-old investor. I am wondering, where can I possibly start? I will be attending UNLV and pursuing a BSBA in real estate, but what more can I do to prepare myself? Ideally, I would like to start ASAP. I'm hungry and have a bit of time to learn. All advice is welcome and I appreciate all of it!

Thanks,

Michael Schwob

Hello BiggerPockets community!

I'm an aspiring real estate investor, but I am a bit alarmed with how many people are investing. Is there a problem or will there ever be a problem with too many RE investors? I also want to invest in commercial. Is there an excessive amount of investors in this area too?

Thank you,

Michael Schwob
