My guess would be you're too young as once you find a deal you need to sign contracts and are not a legal age to do so, you could look up your legal age in your state. I believe most will be 18. Also, being that young you would probably have a hard time discussing with sellers with credibility. Nothing is impossible to overcome but thats what I would say your issues will be.

An example of one of them.

This is going to vary depending on where you are located but in Orlando I have a nationally awarded stager who charges $2,500 for the Living Room, Dining Room and Master. The kitchen decorated and bar stools if needed. Bathrooms decorated, walls decorated, music and aroma. This also includes Professional Pictures of the staging for listing. Price is for 2 months and $600 a month after that. If another room is needed its an additional $400-$500 and extra $100 after the two months.

Hope that helps.

Unless state law says otherwise as people have said... it is not necessary for handyman work like this. You could honestly install the dishwasher and p trap yourself to save even more!!! It is very easy to do. But if you don't feel conformable doing it yourself, it is not necessary to get someone licensed and bonded for this scope of work. Plus as already been said, you bend here and more and more requests will be made.

Not if the contract was written correctly, if you had an inspection contingency then you will get it back.

Hey Mike,

It is very difficult to answer your question without knowing the property and being able to look at comps. Lets say Zillow is correct and the house is worth 200k. A lot of factors come into play. What is the amount owed on the house? Is it at or more then that? If its less, how much is your father-in-law looking to sell it for? If he owes 150 for it and in its current condition its worth 180 but if you put 30 into it its worth 240 then you have to work those numbers. So the two things we need are:

What are the comps of a fixed up comparable house selling for?

How much is it going to cost to fix it?

Once you figure out those two things you can find the answer to what will be worth while for you to do it, if at all.

Lastly... and this would require more thought! What is your relationship like, sometimes its best not to work with family because if something goes wrong and each blames each other it can ruin a relationship.

Todd Dexheimer Close, the quote to replace all 3 came in at $2,700. Seems like the way to go. It is Florida so most any concrete driveway will crack at some point, but not necessarily sink as much as this did. This was again due to the washout on that side with the small hill. Some houses have paved driveways which I prefer because then you don't have that issue but in this situation it wouldn't make sense to replace the whole driveway. California is a whole different animal, I have a friend looking at buying outside the Bay Area. More specifically Livermore, and 1100sq ft for 750k!!! Yikes. Thank you all for your answers!

@Eugene Kemp Its funny cause its true! No on that side is a tiny hill so it looks like the water underneath washed the dirt out which is causing it to sink a little. Cutting it out may be an option but then you would have the joints going the opposite way of all of it. Also if I replace just that slab then they would raise it and there would be unevenness from that slab to the last two, so its almost forcing me to do all 3 if I went the replacing route.
