Welcome to BiggerPockets Khalaf! For starters, I recommend to begin with a single family home or if you are looking to start locally, do house hacking. That is what I did when I started investing in 2020. Here is an article with more information on what a house hack is -

Hope this help! Best of luck on your investing journey

Welcome to BiggerPockets, Bei! It’s great to see you here. Are there any specific markets you’re considering right now? I’d suggest looking into the Midwest—it’s known for being affordable and typically offers solid cash flow opportunities. Best of luck on your real estate journey!

Welcome to BiggerPockets, Markwon! My best advice? Do your research, set clear goals, and decide on a strategy that works for you. If you’re just starting out, I’d recommend to start small - look into single-family homes. It’s a solid approach, especially if you’re working with a smaller budget. That’s how I started, and it’s a great way to get your feet wet in the industry without overextending yourself financially. Just make sure you’ve got a backup in place for any unexpected expenses that might pop up—trust me, they can happen. Hope this helps and best of luck on your journey!

Yes! It's a great way to start connecting with fellow investors. Not all you'll meet are seasoned investors, some are newbies as well and trying to get their feet wet and learn as much on real estate investing. I myself attended local meetups when I was starting and gained insights about their experience on local market

Welcome to BiggerPockets Todd! You're in the right place to learn about real estate investing. My quick advice would be to start small and do your research. Educate yourself on the local market, network with other investors and agents, and always have a solid plan in place before making any investments. Best of luck on your journey!

Hi Monica, you can use tools like rentometer, rent cast or "price my rental" feature on Zillow. It will give you some insights on rental rates around the property. If you come across a property with tenants in-place, you might ask for a financial report if available. In that way, you will have an insight if the numbers make sense for you. You should also check BP Calculators. Hope this helps and good luck on your investing journey!

Glad to see you here Steve!  There’s a lot to learn, and doing thorough research before investing in any market is super important. You can check out sites like Zillow or Redfin to see what houses are selling for and what rental prices look like in your chosen market. You might also want to look at recent sales data to see how fast homes are selling and which neighborhoods are on the rise. Reading up on local job growth or population trends can also give you a good idea of how the market is doing. Best of luck and welcome to the community!
