So I make $2,200 a month at age 22 from my day job. And have about 100k saved up from previous investments(non real estate). What’s the next move to buying first rental property and how much could I afford? Currently living in Hawaii but am not shy to buy a property in a different state if it is a better choice to start out.

@Rolland Wimberley well I’ve heard that with some realtors that rent out to military that they up charge for no reason to military just to make more money. My friend lives in an apartment in tumon that would cost 1200 for a local but he gets charged 2100. The military gives a housing allowance called OHA. We don’t get to keep any of the money anyways so that’s why they do it because they know it doesn’t affect sailors pockets.

So I’m 21 years old and in the navy and just passed my one year mark of joining. I have about $30,000. Saved up right now. Have about $20,000. in a money market savings account @.80% and about $3000 in max $3000 balance cert @ 3.44% and the rest in just in my checkings. Don’t really know what I should do with my money. I know there is a better option and more ways I can earn a better return just don’t really know what my best option is. I have no bills really other than a phone, internet and food. Don’t need a car. What should I do?

I have about 5000 sitting in a money market account with a .80% rate building up every month. I have another 3000 in a certificate 12 month commitment with a 3.34% rate building up every month. I can start another certificate with a 3.25% rate at a 5 year commitment and combine both in a year. Or I could go to a broker and invest the 5000 with them. Is it a good idea to take the certificate or take a risk with investing?

3000 is the max I can deposit on that specific certificate.

New to investing and saving money want to know the better option.
