Hey Everyone! I joined awhile ago and life got a bit in the way. My wife and I relocated to the Charlotte, NC area last year and we want to finally make the leap into REI. We're looking at expanding from our current knowledge in the real estate industry (we both used to be agents in another state) and learn the ins and outs of flipping, wholesaling, and eventually renting. mostly looking to learn from the immense amount of knowledge within the community and hopefully share some of what we learned from the agents side as well. also hoping to meet up and network with others in the industry as well and get recommendations on good trade workers that work around the area as we haven't networked nearly at all since moving here. Looking forward to hearing and learning from you all.

Welcome to BP. If you're looking for some MD contacts reach out. I grew up out that way and know a lot of people in the business out there.

Good luck!

While discussing REI with a soldier the other day he said to me "I have $10,000 saved up, and might be able to scrape up $20,000 by the time we get home. What do you think I should do with it to make more money?" I obviously told him to invest and we discussed the different places he could potentially invest into (Flips, Tax liens, Buy & hold, using VA loan for a Quadraplex, etc.). So BP community, where would you place $10,000, potentially $20,000, for the highest ROI?

Thanks @Don Harris I'm sure you'll be hearing from me once we begin our transition up north.

@Andrew K. Good to hear about VA for multifamily, I had never considered it but you just gave me a new avenue to start researching. Thanks!

Hi all,

I go by Jake, I'm currently deployed to Africa with the Army. when I get home my wife and I will be moving to NC (hopefully the Charlotte area). Once we move we want to begin looking into multi-family properties for buy and hold to produce passive income. I've poked around the website and the forums and seen some great information on here already. Both of us are licensed real estate agents in Florida, however we're not planning to get our license at this time once we move. I look forward to getting to know some of you in the future and hopefully being able to be a helpful member to the forum eventually.
