@Mike Baxter I seriously appreciate all of this great advice. I have heard about the 80/20 rule before, and was hoping to find a top producer to shadow and not an agent within the 80%. I was also wondering how I should go about finding a top producer, and also how to ask if they’d let me shadow them.

I have also been spending lots of time watching agents on YouTube, mostly Bryan Casella. I’ve been trying to learn cold calling, presentations, follow up etc like you mentioned.

I wasn’t aware that I likely wouldn’t receive much training from an entry level sales job, so that gives me another reason to want to shadow an agent.

What you/the investor you know mentioned at the end really stuck with me. That really gave me a good idea of what is important for me to do, in order to succeed.

I can’t thank you, and the other person who said these things enough. This is really what I needed to hear.

@Joe Norman I hadn’t thought of shadowing multiple agents to learn how they all operate. That’s a really great idea. I think I’m leaning more towards shadowing an agent over a sales job at the moment. Thank you for the advice!

@Mike Baxter Oh that’s my fault I forgot to include that in the post, I thought I did. I want to become an agent, and will be getting my license in September of this year

As the title says I am deciding between either of these two opportunities. Would getting into sales early, or learning from an agent be better? Thanks in advance!

@William S. I want to house hack my first rental property. If I could afford a 20% downpayment, would a conventional or fha loan be better? Or does it vary by property

I’m 17 years old right now, and I’m trying to learn all I can before I get my license and start working. I was wondering what ways I can familiarize myself with my market and just learn all I can about real estate in general. I’d appreciate anyone willing to help!

@Cameron Tope What ways do you think I could find people like this to work for? I currently don’t know of any realtors or investors but I really would like to.

I currently have about half a year until I’m able to get my real estate license and was wondering what I can do right now to get into real estate as soon as possible. Should I be networking to find a mentor to guide me right now or wait until I get my license? I’d appreciate any help.

@Sean Pan I have heard that getting good credit is very important for someone my age. What would be the best way to build credit early? And thank you!
