Hi @Nicole Campbell. I have attended the South Atlanta REIA meeting. It usually meets on the 1st Wed of the month.

Hawaii - yes you have to go.  I usually go once a year right after Thanksgiving for the surfing competitions, but this year I had a change of plans.  I recommend the The Kahala Hotel & Resort on O'ahu, but I am sure others have alternate recommendations.

@Tim Fordham hit the nail on the head. @Whitney Payton - I am not sure where you are located.  This meeting is held in College Park on Main. I can't post the contact's email address here

Here is more info for the South Atlanta REIA and email contact info:

The next meeting should be on 12/7.

Hi @Tamika Lucas - there is a monthly meetup group in College Park usually around the 1st Wednesday of the month.  I haven't received anything for December, but the email for the meeting should arrive soon.

@Sebby Gabre Madhin Were you able to get inside the property prior to placing your bid?  I have my eye on a couple of their properties, but I can never get inside of them.

Hello all - I am looking for any realtors specializing in Cook County who may have off MSL deals.  Seems all I get these days are listings that I can find myself on realtor.com.  Am I asking too much?  BTW - looking for income producing 4 units outside of war zones.  Ready to view ASAP as I am currently under a 1031 Exchange timeline.

@Travis Beehler Correct - thanks to Cook County taxes.  Nearby towns of Whiting and Hammond, IN offer some interesting deals with lower taxes.

@Lisa Renee From a fellow vet - thank you for your service.  I would suggest doing the following:

1.  Use technology as much as possible (Google Earth, Maps, etc) to get an idea of the neighborhoods

2.  Possibly hire someone to actually look at the properties for you.  They can't make the final decision, but they can take photos/videos of the interior that will give you some idea of the state of the property.  I believe Google Gigs allows you to advertise for what you are needing.

3.  What @Jered Sturm  said
