Hi @J Scott, I have a question aimed at you. I have finished reading your book on rehabbing. I am ready to start my direct mail campaign. Since it is almost the end of 2015, and in a constantly changing economy, I assume that you have different tactics. Is there any way you could share your direct mail campaign? I want to pick a zip code or two, and using listsource, get about 500 contacts. With those 500 contacts, I want to send direct mail to them every couple of weeks, as you mentioned. I am a full time student and I have a job so my days are usually busy. A question I have for you is do you think its smarter to just send to maybe 125 contacts a week, and get to all 500 of them in a month. And then repeat the cycle? This way, I can handle the calls coming in? Also, there is a lot of talk about using different direct mail campaigns like small text pc, yellow letter, professional letter, large post cards, zip letters, greeting cards, etc. Have you tried any of these? If so, do you think they work or do you like sticking to your roots of yellow letters and pc? Also, since I am just starting out and my funds are low, I want to make it pretty cheap and put some sweat equity in it. One thing I will not do is actually write the letters by hand. Are there any websites/places that you could recommend? Is there a better website to pull my list from (need equity criteria)? get invitation envelopes for cheap ? first class stamp vs bulk stamp? order yellow letters or pc for cheap? I can even buy a bunch of yellow paper and print a bunch of "handwritten font" on it, and send it out. The point of my question is, without being involved in any of this, and just completely ordering any of it from somewhere like @Jerry Puckett or @Michael Quarles , it costs me upwards of a dollar. Then I think to myself, 50 cents for a stamp, 20 cents for invitation envelope, with couple cents for ink/paper. I feel like it comes out to be that much. So besides wasting time, and not saving any money, whats happening? Of course, eventually in a couple months, I will switch over to these automated programs from these gentlemen, but for now, can you guide me to any cheap places I can go to cut down my costs substantially? Btw I completely understand the opportunity costs of time vs a couple of cents. But sometimes you just have to do what you gotta do. Thank you in advance!
