@Account Closed - You might want to check out episode 140 of the BP podcast. They featured Bill Syrios who focuses on student housing. It was definitely worth listening to.

I made an offer on a piece of property recently. The children of the woman who owned the property responded today saying they have power of attorney for their mother and would like to sell.

With this being the case what additional steps do I need to take to verify that they do have proper power of attorney? Also what other steps should I be taking in the closing process to insure everything is done correctly?

@Joseph Smith Welcome!

@Norberto Villanueva Thanks! I think I'm going to go for it.

I'm not very interested in becoming a real estate agent right now, but would going through the coursework provide useful information that could benefit an investor?

I've noticed that in other threads the main benefit is access to the MLS. Apart from this is there anything you're going to learn in the course work that is significantly more difficult to learn on your own?

Hey Everyone,

I've been listening to the BP Podcasts for some time now and am now looking to become more active here on the forums after seeing how much is offered here.

I'm looking to purchase my first property in a little over a year from now, any advice is much appreciated!
