I'm in escrow on 510 sf condo that needs complete renovation. I may rent it later on after my obligatory VA year live in residence.

How do I renovate but not "over renovate?"

I'm also looking for a general contractor in the area to hire for the renovation, any connections welcome!

Matt

To clarify, are posters saying that a single veteran can have more than one VA loan payment on more than one property at the same time? Or is it as I thought that a single veteran can only have one VA loan active at one time.

Glad to see this thread active.  New member here recently moved to Vegas looking to connect with an investor oriented RE agent to bounce some ideas off of.  I'm in no rush to jump in now and am positioned really well with a solid essential job here hoping for some opportunities in distressed situations over the next 6 months or so... I lived in SoCal during the financial crisis and in hindsight would have bought up more to possibly exit my aviation career.  It seems this situation could present a similar opportunity to build some material RE income.

How does it look for possible nomad strategy in Vegas and Socal?  I live in in Vegas but would like to move to SoCal in the next couple years and am considering a nomad and or house hacking strategy. Open to other ideas as well.

I have a stable job with about 85K income and uo to 50K or so to invest (or not) by buying a condo in Vegas then nomad to SoCal. I am also a verteran having a 0% funding fee VA loan at my disposal if needed.

Lastly, I am patient and am looking to see what kind of opportunities the current crisis might present in residential RE.

Thanks!
