Hi @Rebecca Wadhwa. Brokers in my area do not charge a monthly desk fee. The brokers take a percentage of the agent's commission check until the agent meets a predetermined amount of productivity. After the agent has met the benchmark for the year, that agent keeps 100% of their commission check, after franchise fees. 

I know of brokers that charge monthly desk fees, but that will not be ideal for a part time agent. I would recommend interviewing multiple brokers to find one that feels like the right feel for you and will not charge a monthly desk fee.
