I'm a big fan of the podcast scene - BP, The School of Greatness, SpartanUp, Entreleadership, The Tim Ferriss show and Ted Talks. The great thing about podcasts is they come to you once you subscribe to them so you never have to look for content! Hi Lisa Santoroski , Good afternoon. I'm in the same exact position as you so I'm looking forward to other feedback you get. I have friends that ONLY rent to S8 tenants because of payment reliability. They've been beat by traditional renters (damages, eviction costs, unpaid rent, etc). Many housing authorities do background checks during the S8 eligibility process, and you are free to do your own as well. Hi JT Taylor , Welcome aboard BP! I'm based in McKinney and looking for similar deals just a bit south of your target areas (Ft. Worth, Arlington, Irving, etc). The deals you are looking for are definitely out there regularly, especially SFH. Multi-family margins tend to be tighter from what I've seen. Start emailing agents on listings that fit your criteria and invest time with those that are the most responsive & attentive. Use the rental calcs here on BP. Hi everyone,

I am a fairly new member of BP. Im closing on my first SFR next week and I am looking to grab a couple more in the next 90 days. Does anyone on this board have experience with accepting S8 on their properties in Dallas (S. Dallas, Oak Cliff, Cedar Crest, Balch Springs, Mesquite)? I am interested in figuring out exactly what criteria the home needs to fit to maximize the voucher, as well as to get a litmus test on how accurate the voucher estimates from DHA are. Lastly, does anyone know of solid property managers in this area?
