I’ve been following the Bigger Pockets movement for a few months now and I’m getting closer and closer to making my leap into real estate. One road block/scare I’m facing is vacancy. Once I get the deal I want and have it rental ready, how do I make sure to keep my unit occupied and minimize vacancy or is that just something that comes with the territory. My nightmares, is being stuck with a property that is vacant half the year or more .

I’ve been doing much research and learning as possible for the past few months . I have saved a couple thousand so far but would do a lot better if I had a goal . Wonder what’s a good amount to save up before getting my first investment property (rental) knowing that it will need rehab plus enough to cover months of vacancy .

@RyanJohnston until I get settled I would be in the buck head area which I know is on the pricier end of the deal. Other than that , I couldn't give you a definite answer, haven't done enough touring of the entire city yet.

I am new to the investment game and coming up on my first home purchase, but it will be in Atlanta. In New Orleans , I know the landscape and have no trouble for having options to house hack , but Atlanta I have no idea . Anyone house hacked in Atlanta ? Do you have any suggestions for a new comer ?
