@Jennifer Pauyo hi Jennifer! That sounds great! When are the meetings usually hosted? Have you attended them before?

@Alessandro Cardito hey Alessandro! I’d love to get more information about the meetups you host. When and where do you typically host?

Hi everyone,

I've been on the biggerpockets scene for a little over a year now and i've loved every minute of it. The amount of information on here is invaluable! However, the best part is meeting people in person. I've attended a few meet ups in the Bergen/Passaic County. I am curious if there are any meetups that are regularly occurring in the Jersey City/Hoboken area. I've seen quite a few investors on various posts that are from the hudson county area. If one hasn't already been started I'd like to see who would be interested in trying to put one together. Yesterday I met with @Chris Boselli here in Jersey City and we both discussed the possibility of trying to put one together. We both feel it'd be great to start a group of like-minded real estate investors to meet up and talk about what I think we're all passionate about:Real estate! Please feel free to reach out if you're interested in starting something, or if you know of a meet up group in this area that is already meeting.

If i were buying a property from a turnkey company in Memphis should the work that they are doing or have done have associated building permits? or to put it another way, if the subject property shows no past permits, is that  cause for concern?

@Dean Harris Thanks for the advice. I look forward to connecting. I haven't been completely deterred from the Memphis market. I think there's a great deal of potential there.

@Catherine Lacey Thank you for sharing your story! I haven't let the lackluster 1st investment deter me. I am already looking into diving into my second investment.

@Chris Boselli

Hi Chris, it seems like we're practically neighbors. I live in Jersey City. Like you said, I do look back and cringe at some of the mistakes I made, but I take comfort in the fact that I have learned from them.  I would certainly like to meet up sometime to discuss strategies. Shoot me a PM and we can connect.

@Jade Bloomfield @Account Closed You're welcome! I hope my post provided some insight. There are a lot of mistakes to be made, and I just hope I can help others avoid the ones i made.

@Jade Bloomfield you definitely should not be discouraged at the thought of investing long distance, its definitely possible. Just make sure you do your homework.
