@Christian B Powe one of my clients swears on North Carolina. He lives in New Jersey and travels down to North Carolina a few times a month to check on his properties. If you want to relocation, but aren't ready just yet, NC might be a good place to start rolling out your business.

@Rafael Molinaro as far as financing for different assets in New Jersey, there are a few different options. You could get a credit line, use a hard money lender, work with a private lender, or take out a traditional mortgage for your properties. The hot location I have seen lately for investing in NJ are Newark, Jersey City, the Oranges, Rochelle, Irvington, Trenton, and Livingston. It really depends on what kind of property you/your client is looking for; are you looking to cater towards higher-end, lower-end, are you looking to be a landlord, do you just want to flip, do you want to wholesale? These are some of the questions you want to ask yourself/client.

Hi @Kevin Michaels you should go to the next Flippers & Funders event in Asbury Park. You can find the info on meetup.com. I probably won't be there this time, but there's a good amount of wholesalers, investors, and agents from Ocean and Monmouth County that go to that event.

@Steve Raymond The SJREIA is really good! If you want a group closer to Red Bank, there is one that meets in Asbury Park once a month. My team and myself attend it most of the time. Look up Flippers and Funders, Asbury Park on meetup.com.

Hi @Eric Donigan,

Welcome to BP! This website is a great place to start. There are a lot of knowledgeable individuals in the real estate industry active on this site.

My team and I use meetup.com. It is a great way to find local REIA's in the area. A lot of them provide free education and networking.

Hi @Miya Jones,

Welcome to the real estate community! I would say the best thing to do is figure out what kind of real estate you want to get into, whether it be fix & flips, fix & holds, wholesaling, etc. Then figure out which areas you want to focus on and start looking. You can use bigger pockets, meetup.com (for real estate networking events and listings), craiglist (for listings), twitter, and other free social sites to get started. I have learned that networking is the most powerful tool in real estate. It helps you meet your contractors, find buys, and do pretty much everything, because THIS IS a relationship business. If I can help in any other way, please feel free to reach out.
