Post: Buying Multifamily in South Side of Chicago

Kenneth, which neighborhood is it in? My family lives on the Southside so I can tell you about some of the neighborhoods. Some general advice: Make sure you vet your tenants very well. Maybe do section 8 so payments are guaranteed.  Find excellent property management with lots of experience in that neighborhood.

Thanks Mark!  I will check them out! Do you use this company yourself at all?

I am looking for a property management company who has experience managing  properties on the south side of Chicago. I am in the process of purchasing a 4-unit property in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood and would like to have a property manager ASAP.

I am looking for an experienced, investor friendly realtor in the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana area as I am searching for my first 4 flat to purchase. If you or anyone you know can provide these services, please let me know! :)

Post: Borrow from family member or FHA Loan?

I am currently in the process of looking for my first multi-unit building to purchase and rent out. My brother has offered to loan me the money to purchase a building with cash and I could just pay him back the exact amount instead of having to wait 4-6 months to close and pay interest on a mortgage. This is great except for the fact that if I take out an FHA loan, he could have his money to invest himself and take care of his family while I invest the money I am loaned from the bank and let my tenants pay the mortgage. I'm not sure if i'm making sense at all so let me know if what i'm asking make sense or not. Which is the wiser choice when it comes to investing? Borrowing from a family member or taking out an FHA loan?

Hi Everyone!  I am new to real estate and BiggerPockets. I am really looking forward to making lasting connections on here while building my financial freedom. I plan on buying and holding multiunit rental properties and doing some wholesaling.  I am currently in the process of finding and purchasing my first multiunit building while educating myself on the wholesaling process.
