@Kristyl L. Isaacson

I just got wind that the police questioned the neighbors about there being an illegal daycare run out of her unit. I know home daycares are legal because my mom and cousin have them. I'm not sure what she is doing that makes hers illegal. But apparently she is doing something. As the landlord, am I going to be found liable for her illegal daycare?

@Kirk R.

Hey Kirk! So I was at my unit today and the neighbor told me that the police knocked on her door a few days ago because they had knocked on the door to my building and no one answered. The police told her that they were trying to see if there was an illegal daycare being run out of there. They were asking hey a bunch of questions. She told them that she'd never seen any kids there. Personally, I've never seen any kids there either. However, my tenant did tell me that she has a daycare and she has the place decorated as one. I figured it was a home daycare and wasn't a big deal so never thought twice about it. What do I do?

@Theresa Harris

It's a stacked top and bottom duplex. Maybe I'll ask one tenant to be responsible for the front and the other to be responsible for the back.

@Mary Mitchell

No I didn't. I dont think an application exits for her. She barely even has a decent lease. She was the previous owner's daughter's friend. She was so horrible of a tent that he decided to sell the building and forget being a landlord. He told me at the closing table that she never paid her rent on time and she was very messy and manipulative.

@Mary Mitchell I don't have his personal phone number. He contacted me from his mother's phone. When I texted the phone back to ask him how his mother was doing, I received no response. I have no way of getting in touch with either of the people living in the unit other than driving there and knocking on the door. I'd rather just call hospitals.

@Filipe Pereira Thank you! I wont give up! The son came there to quarantine with his mom when we first **** down. Prior to that, he’d had his own place. Im going to call a few hospitals and just ask to speak with her, they will tell me if there is no one there by that name. Im gonna speak to a lawyer this week about what to do.

I own a duplex. Is it okay to ask my tenants to cut the grass if i provide the lawn mower? Or is this tacky? The yard isn’t that big.
