Be sure to check out the Podcasts, tons of information. Also set up keyword alerts for your area. I bought a 4plex as my first rental property, and 5 yrs later it's still my best performer. House hacking is a perfect way to start. Good luck!

I agree with Ned don't limit yourself on just a duplex,  know your market! You might find a better investment in a 3 or 4 unit. Good luck!

I agree with Jo-Ann, I would find your local REI clubs, start networking there. Keep your job! Keep saving! And don't be in a rush, find the right deal whether it is a flip or a buy and hold.
