Thank you for sharing. Your story is very inspiring for someone like me who's just starting. In the end it's not about the money but about the knowledge you gained. Good luck and keep going.

Hello everyone. I heard some guru say something about getting his funding from regular people who have retirement accounts. What he does is ask people to invest in his company for a higher return backed with real estate. I want to know if anyone here is familiar with this financing strategy and has done it before. Is there a standard contract you use with this? Thank you for your responses.

Hi Sean, here's a link of what's going on in the Las Vegas real estate market from Zillow.com.

http://www.zillow.com/las-vegas-nv/home-values/

Personally, I think Vegas would be good for buy and hold. The rental market here is really good. One bedrooms can rent anywhere from 450 to 800 depending on location and you have to wait to move in. It's all up to you my advice is to do your homework before you jump in. I can help you look for properties and also help you with property managers. Good luck!

Hello Charles, I'm from Las Vegas and new to real estate investing and BP also. I recommend you go through all the learning advice given by BP. BP members are great at helping for free. Feel free to just ask any question. I'm looking into local meetups also and I found this link

http://www.meetup.com/reia-lv/

Check them out. I will too later I'm taking my PSI test for my RE license today.

Good luck and maybe we can connect later?

I found BiggerPockets from a Google search on the term "Renatus.com scams". I discovered Renatus when I responded to an add for a real estate job in Craigslist Las Vegas. I was looking for a way to get back into real estate again without paying a guru a lot of money to start. I'm working on getting licensed again. I gave up my RE license in 2012 because it was becoming more expensive to keep it than to loose it. So here I am. I'm very thankful for Google for allowing me to find BP. I love technology. Everyone in BP is very helpful

I was born and raised in the Philippines. I moved here 30 years ago. I've lived in Las Vegas most of the time. I was a Casino Dealer for 8 years. I served active duty US Air Force for 9 years. I was business owner for 14 years. Then the 2008 crash happened and next thing you know I'm back on square 1.

I want to make money again that's why I chose RE. I'm interested in learning everything about investing in RE. I want to learn to be smarter this time and set everything up the right way. I want to be able to buy and own rental properties so I have passive income for retirement. I'm not getting younger everyday so I want to be able to do all of this as soon as possible. Thanks to BP and all the wonderful members I think I have a chance of making it again. Never give up be positive! Let's make all the money we can make and may God bless America.
