Hi friends,

I am looking for a mortgage for a condotel in California and will need to go with an unconventional loan due to my other properties and debt/income ratio. Spoke with Sprouts and they reported a product that is 20% down for a 30 year fixed in the high 5 to low 6 percent (for someone with excellent credit). This is specifically for short term vacation rental. Anyone have any experience with sprout mortgage (not sprout financial)? Anyone know if there are any better products? I've noticed the price of the Westin Monache units on the market has dropped a fair amount recently. Does anyone have any experience renting the one bedrooms or studios as a STR?

@Doran Summers. I have yet to secure financing. The quotes I've gotten are about 8% interest rate which then no longer makes financial sense for the investment.

Hi Friends,

I am attempting to get financing for a condotel (to use as a short term vacation rental) in Mammoth Lakes, California. I've got enough cash to put 25% as a down payment but do not meet the debt to income ratio, and will not have enough cash reserves to cover all my properties for 6 months as required by a traditional lender. I already own a condotel in the same complex that has done fairly well so would like to add to my portfolio. If anyone can point me in the direction of a good lender or have any advice it would be greatly appreciated.
