Very inspiring story @Jake Thomas ! I am originally from Grand Rapids, MI and have been starting to evaluate rental properties in the area again. Would love to connect and get your take on the rental market if you are still investing locally.

Hey Jen, I would love to connect? Are you interested in partnerships at all?

Post: $50K Side Hustle to FI

Hi there, my husband and I recently discovered FI and are starting to make changes in our daily lives to start the journey to FI. Yay! Currently, we are evaluating a relocation to LA for me to take a new job to earn more income, save more, etc. My husband would have to stay in our current location due to his job, so we would commute back n forth on the weekends, and add a living expense..not ideal. The difference between me moving and not moving is about $50K. I am wondering if this wonderful community might be able to help me brainstorm ways to side hustle my way to $50K so that I can stay in our current location with him.

Is it realistic to be able to make $50K from a side hustle my first year? I don't mind the hard work and I am willing to put the time in to get us there and not have to live in 2 locations but want to be realistic with my expectations.

Thanks much.

Thank you for sharing all of this. This is exactly what I am trying to do just down the street in San Diego. I would love to connect to learn more about all the knowledge your CPA has shared with you and how I might be able to apply this to our house-hack.

Looking to invest in DFW community. I am a first-time buyer looking to start building my rental portfolio from out of state.  I am looking for recommendations of Property Managers that have experience working with out of state investors. Thanks for the help!

Thanks Dan. We plan to invest in San Diego no question. We are currently looking at house hacking potentials and single family homes to occupy for at least one year and put renters in. Are there specific neighborhoods that you currently only invest in for your small multiplex units? Would love to hear more about how you have leveraged San Diego to build your portfolio.

Thanks!
