@John Underwood not controlling the property is part of why I am hesitant to move forward with the strategy and why I am seeking professional advice. I see quite a few people saying that rental arbitrage is not a winning strategy. I appreciate your feedback!

Another question for you. I am finishing a remodel on the top unit of my duplex I recently purchased. What things should I consider when deciding if I want to use it as a short term rental or a long term rental?

I was wondering if any of you have suggestions for an Airbnb rental arbitrage course? I am also interested in coaching/mentors in this field as well. I feel as if I have a basic understanding of this strategy and have been doing my own market research but I would like to connect with a professional before pulling the trigger.

@Mike Zoellner you’re certainly not alone in your struggles! It took me a while to get my first duplex in Ogden under contract (closes this month can I get a yahoo?). If you have any interest in being added to my multi family hot sheet I have set up in salt lake county I’d be happy to add you! It helps you get an idea of what properties are out there right now and what new ones are hitting the market! Best of luck!

@Austyn Victoria The duplex I’m buying is in North Ogden right next to the Weber tech college. I plan on owner occupying! I understand that the commute can be a pain! I have a hot sheet set up for all the multi families in salt lake and Weber county, if you want me to send those to your email I’d be happy to do that! @Austyn Victoria hi Austyn! Have you considered house hacking in Ogden? I’m closing on my first duplex in Ogden right now even though I live in slc. The numbers seem to make more sense for rental properties in Weber county at the moment.
