I've had an iPhone since 2008 and wanted to try something else when the last one broke. I'd heard the HTC One was amazing, so I picked it up with high expectations. And promptly returned it in exchange for a new iPhone a week later! It was just such a hassle to program every single app, nothing worked seamlessly & took too much time. It did take great pictures & had great audio though. But it looks like I'm iPhone 4 lyfe now!

I have an '09 Accord with about 45,000 miles on it, bought 3 years ago. I love cars, big fan of the UK's Top Gear show, but they are a terrible investment and I'd rather build wealth. I hold on to cars until they stop working and always buy for reliability. My millionaire grandpa has been the model for this- drives a 1995 Accord & our materialistic neighbors actually had the gal to leave a note on his car saying it was driving down the property value!

That said, I'm hoping to pick up a classic Bronco someday for a hobby car :) In my dreams I'd have a Mercedes SLS/SLR/SL (just the mention kind of turns me on...), but could never fathom spending that much on something that will depreciate so quickly!

Thanks for the welcome! I've set up the alerts. I'm in the phase of being a bit overwhelmed & not ready to act, but I'm formulating a plan. I'm working about 60 hours a week which is helping to build up cash reserves, but leaves little time to do my homework. That should change in a few months! Also planning to attend a San Diego REIA meeting as soon as I'm able.

I do have a question- I am thinking getting in touch with a realtor would be a good next step. I've looked at their website, but there are so many! How do I find a good realtor?

Hi!

I'm fresh out of grad school, working as a PA in San Diego and saving up for my first investment property. In the meantime, I'm trying to learn as much as possible so I can strike while the iron is hot! My goal is to create passive income and build assets so that I can take time off from medicine and relax a little more. I'd like to have the freedom to work because I want to and love it, not because I have to.

My goals are evolving, but currently I am thinking that a duplex to fourplex would be the best investment. San Diego seems like a very tough market and my boyfriend and I are considering a move to possibly Charlotte, NC in about a year. I've seen what my grandparents were able to do with the condo building they own and how amazing having a passive income has been for our entire family.

I really appreciate this wonderful community and the culture of free information and supporting each other. Hopefully I'll be in the position to advise and help future newbies out myself soon!

Hi, this is my first post after listening to nearly all of the podcasts!
I've been putting time into learning about investing with plans to purchase a buy and hold in about a year. I just finished grad school and am working full time, have a boatload of student debt but am making enough to save about $30k/year.

My hope is to get a duplex or fourplex and this may seem like a very elementary question, but what is the best way to browse listing specifically for multi-unit properties? I don't have access to the MLS and am not able to get those licenses at the moment since I'm working a lot, but I am interested in studying the market so I will be prepared to jump on a good opportunity.

Thank you for your help!
