New Member from San Diego, considering moving East!

Hi!

I'm fresh out of grad school, working as a PA in San Diego and saving up for my first investment property. In the meantime, I'm trying to learn as much as possible so I can strike while the iron is hot! My goal is to create passive income and build assets so that I can take time off from medicine and relax a little more. I'd like to have the freedom to work because I want to and love it, not because I have to.

My goals are evolving, but currently I am thinking that a duplex to fourplex would be the best investment. San Diego seems like a very tough market and my boyfriend and I are considering a move to possibly Charlotte, NC in about a year. I've seen what my grandparents were able to do with the condo building they own and how amazing having a passive income has been for our entire family.

I really appreciate this wonderful community and the culture of free information and supporting each other. Hopefully I'll be in the position to advise and help future newbies out myself soon!
