Hi Dan, The toughest thing about just getting started is deciding on what strategy. Lots of choices offered. Many people just want to be more hands on at first, to really understand the process and then move on to notes or syndication or more sophisticated strategies. 

Understanding the numbers is critical and building a system using my skills and talents is what worked for me. I got a mentor who guided me through what it really takes - it was my brother. He had SF and apartment buildings. 

I started with a triplex. Over the years I grew that to a $14 Million dollar portfolio of SF, Multifamily, Condo development, commercial and vacation properties. I believe it's important to choose a strategy that fits for you matching your skills and talents and time frame.
