Thank you all for your responses. Let me clarify a little. I know there have been a whole lot of threads about books on BP & their merits. That is why I put this post in Real Estate Guru Books & Course review discussion.
I was just curious on if there are enough "staples" that have been truly useful enough to possibly create a "library" portion here on BP to provide additional resources. After all, to have read something that is truly beneficial and has had a positive effect, why wouldn't you want to share it?
If I could get a list of lets say 100 books, I could then post that list and let BP decide which would be the most influential. It could even be broken down into the many different facets of REI. So no one portion of the pie is left out. Just thought it would be a good idea.

Mark,
If you are seriously looking at Tax Auction, you need to do your due diligence. All of the auction specifics are located on the Los Angeles County Treasurer & Tax collectors web site. As to how competitive the auction is. Tax auctions can be very competitive anywhere in CA. Good luck & let me know how you did!

There are so many really knowledgeable and successful people here on BP. I have a challenge for you folks.
I'm curious to know what you think are the most relevant, informative, honest, influential, and helpful books out there about REI. I'm not talking about "guru program" books, selling only one part of the puzzle. But actual works that, for you have stood the test of time and are still relevant to what you do daily. It might also be fun to share you favorite motivational reads too! If there is enough response, maybe there could even eventually be a BP library where people could find these exceptional reads.

While roaming around here on B.P, I somehow got on this link that sells a forecasting tool. It's from a company called Housing Alerts. Have any of you seen or use this? Or is this just another "Guru" trying to sell his own flavor of snake oil? Here is the link (hopefully it won't be removed). Please give me your feedback.

Welcome to B P Douglas.

Anthony, I’m not bashing, or being negative. Just naïve, and no I have never done a $1m deal, nor am I planning on doing one. Its just BP is here to enlighten, provide information, share knowledge and be a positive influence to all.
I get it you just want some HML’s in Pa. That’s all good and well, I’m sure if the posts had been truthful, you probably would have had several sources from BP. However,
IMO by not being truthful on how you obtained it would hurt your chances rather than help them. How many potential lenders would back out once they found out things weren’t quite as you had posted? Or put in another way, how many sources did the BP family forward to you? We don’t want or need a response; they would have been visible on this thread.

I am waiting on the appraisal 7 days then I will know its true value and purchase it. I want a hard money loan because I can do more deals.

I'm still quite confused, if as you say you won it from a bank auction, then the owner would no longer be able to put it under contract, and as far as I can tell there have never been any bank auctions on e-bay.
There are a lot of newbies her on BP & it is not very helpful to hear "shaggy dog" stories.

[If you go to a bank action this is what you will find bankers mumbling like they are bidding it was a closed auction 3 people was there it was fixed but I will have the value in 7 day from an independent company that specializes in castles but I know for sure its worth at least double just if I junked it. quote]

& then later you write

I know I'm new to REI, but this just doesn't make any sense to me. Which was it was it a bank auction or e-bay, or did you get it under contract by the owner? Also if it is under contract, that means the sale has not gone through yet, correct?

Thanks Mitch, Just what I thought. Hmm I wonder if they would be interested in purchasing 7 parcels of land in the Pocon's for about $50,000. (only worth about 3.000) just kidding
